collaborative support from our community organizations.
Information for the following
Council Patch Programs is available from your Field Executive:
1. Angela Peterson Doll-Miniatures Museum
For all age levels, a visit to the Museum to see 1700 dolls from around the world and to complete patch requirements on site.
2. Blandwood
For Brownies through Seniors, girls can visit and participate in activities to learn about 19th century living.
3. Brownies Be Aware
For Brownies to increase awareness, acceptance and knowledge of people with disabilities.
4. Candlefest
For all age levels to participate in local Candlefest events held during December of each year.
5. Community Service
For Brownies and Juniors to provide girls with an opportunity to develop an awareness and sensitivity of the needs and services in their communities and to realize the value of giving to others.
6. Crime Prevention
For Brownies through Seniors to help girls learn positive actions to reduce crime and to be aware of personal safety.
7. Double Dutch
For Juniors through Seniors to introduce the sport of jumping rope while teaching teamwork.
8. Furniture Discovery Museum
For all age levels, a visit at the museum completing interactive programs, scavenger hunts and games.
9. Gender Equity
For Brownies through Seniors who complete activities from this program book that center around helping girls to develop self esteem and assertiveness skills.
10. Goodwill
For all age levels, a clothing drive that is carried out in the fall of each year for Goodwill clients.
12. Hand in Hand
For Brownies through Seniors to promote activities with and for Senior Citizens.
13. Historic Bethabara
For Brownies through Seniors who visit the site and complete activities while learning about Moravian history.
14. Mount Airy Museum of Regional History
For Brownies through Seniors providing fun activities to help girls learn about the history and traditions of the back country region known as "The Hollows."
15. North Carolina Pottery Center
For Brownies through Seniors to experience the making of various pottery pieces with local potters at the Pottery Center.
16. North Carolina Zoo
For Brownies through Seniors, activities are completed at the troop level and at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.
17. Nursing Exploration
For Brownies through Seniors to explore medical careers in the nursing field.
18. Old Salem
For Brownies through Seniors who visit the site and complete activities while learning about Moravian history.
19. Outdoor Excellence

For Brownies through Seniors to encourage troops to camp at our Council operated properties at one camp of the troop’s choice, to promote progression in camping skills, to experience winter camping.
20. Piedmont Environmental Center
For all age levels to learn about nature, wildlife, insects, plants; hiking, mapping, backpacking, biking, canoeing, and more.
21. Program Trail
For Brownies through Seniors to encourage the exploration of science, arts, and museum resources in their communities and surrounding counties.
22. RA RA RA
For Juniors through Seniors to recognize abilities, rethink attitudes, and revive awareness relating to disabilities.
23. Shining Volunteer
For all age levels and registered adults to increase adult participation in the Girl Scouts, Tarheel Triad Council, support of troop/group leadership and to expand program activities to retain girls and adults.
24. Sister Troop
For Brownies through Seniors to promote interaction and group sharing with a Sister Troop.
25. Tannenbaum Historical Park
For Brownies through Seniors to provide girls with experiences through hands-on activities from the eighteenth century; everyday life before, during and after the American Revolution.
26. Tennis USTA
For all girls who want to learn how to play tennis. The requirements can be completed in local communities.
27. Together We Prepare
For Brownies and Juniors to learn actions for emergency preparedness through the Red Cross.
28. Trefoil Troop
For all age levels to promote a diversified, quality year-long program for girls.
29. Women In History
For Brownies through Juniors to learn how women have progressed through time.
Handbooks contain official Try-Its, Badges and Patches that are placed on the front of a girl’s sash or vest. Council and event patches are placed on the back of a girl’s sash or vest, or on jackets, tote bags, blankets, etc.
