Low was so dedicated to the Girl Scouts that in 1914, she sold a strand of rare matched pearls for $8,000 to raise money. You, too, can help to fund the Girl Scouts by contributing jewelry to the Council. Not your finest pearls, but your broken jewelry- discarded rings, class rings, old or broken watches, watchbands, single earrings, twisted or broken gold chains, pendants, award pins, broken diamonds, and even dental gold are only a few examples of items that have no value to you, but can be converted into cash. Complete the form below. Bring the broken or unwanted items along with this form and turn it in to the Council office, your Service Unit manager, troop leader, or Field Executive. If you wish, you will receive a donation receipt for your records and we will convert the scrap to cash. Collection envelopes are available at the Council. If you would like to distribute them to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers, please contact Fund Development at 369-7420 to request a supply. You may also direct any questions about the Jewels for Juliette Program to FundDev@tarheeltriad.org. Items with no precious metal value will be sold at the By Girls, For Girls Boutique in 2006, unless you indicate that you would like these items returned. All proceeds from this program will be used to purchase sports equipment, arts and crafts supplies, and other needed items for the Girl Scouts’ Learning Center.
